All prices in the store are quoted in Australian Dollars ($AUD). Credit card payments are accepted through the secure online store via Stripe.

Damaged Items

Every endeavour is taken to carefully wrap and pack your ceramics to ensure they arrive in good condition. Sometimes undesirable things happen. If you receive damaged items please notify me within 24 hours. Generally a refund will only be offered if it is a one-off item or the item is out of stock. Otherwise, a replacement will be posted at no expense to the customer.

Lost Items

Each order will have a tracking number. Please inform me if your order has not arrived after 10 business days so I can follow it up. Please ensure that you enter the correct delivery address. Peakvue Studio will not be responsible for missing orders where the incorrect address was provided.

Caring for your Ceramics

I predominantly use stoneware clay for my ceramic work. It is high fired, hard wearing and strong (but it will break like other crockery). Stoneware can be washed in the dishwasher, however, it is kinder to hand wash these handcrafted pieces. Give them some love and attention and they will serve you for a lifetime. Stoneware is heat resistant and items labelled as ‘oven safe’ can be used for baking. The clay used to make these vessels contains more ‘grog’ which better withstands ‘heat shock’, associated with heating and cooling.

MudPlay Workshops

A ceramic workshop at beautiful Peakvue Studio is a fun way to have a go at pottery making, especially with your friends or family members.

Get a group together and get in contact - maximum 6, minimum or 4 for workshop to run. BYO nibbles and drinks, starting at $140 per person, or fully catered options available.

Approx. 3 hours of hand building fun. Make plates, bowls, cups, mugs. No experience necessary and everything is supplied, just wear covered in shoes.

Items will be glazed and fired and available for collection approx. 4 weeks after the workshop.

Firing Service Questions

Unfortunately, Peakvue Studio does not offer firing of items that are not made at MudPlay Workshops.

Please goggle community based pottery groups in your area or look for a commercial firing service at your nearest pottery supplies store.

I can recommend Northern Rivers Pottery Supplies in Lismore, NSW.

The Beauty of Handmade

Peakvue Studio is a one-woman-band! I like it that way! Everything is handcrafted with love and attention, in small batches. The nature of my process using hand building techniques, means that each piece has its own handmade characteristics. Every piece is perfectly imperfect, yet completely beautiful and functional. Every effort is made to give a true representation of each piece in my photos. However, discrepancies can occur and as each piece is unique there might be slight variations in shape and colour.

The Ceramic Process

The most important lesson I have learnt since making ceramics, is that this process that can not be rushed!

  1. Each piece is hand built with great attention to detail. It is then slowly dried over many days or sometimes even weeks to prevent cracking, warping or kiln disasters like explosions!

  2. The work then has its first firing (bisque firing) to 1000 degrees C.

  3. Each piece is sanded and wet sponged to remove dust and other foreign particles.

  4. Next, it is hand glazed using a variety of techniques including brushing, dipping, pouring and sponging back areas.

  5. After carefully ensuring there is no glaze on the bottoms, the pieces are then loaded into the kiln for the second firing, the glaze firing, to up to 1300 degrees C. This takes approximately 24-36 hours for firing and cooling.

  6. Sometimes a third firing is required for designs that feature gold lustre, or embellished with ceramic decals.

Making ceramics takes time, attention to detail, love and patience.

Refunds + Exchanges

My greatest wish is that you are completely satisfied with your Peakvue Studio purchase. If for some reason you are not, please contact me within 7 days of receiving your order so we can find a solution. I offer exchange or a credit note. Refunds will only be offered if the item is faulty or damaged (see damaged items policy). Unwanted items must be returned to Peakvue Studio, at the purchaser’s expense, unused and in original condition. The item must returned in undamaged packaging before the exchange or credit note is issued.

Commissions

Please contact me if you would like to discuss something specific. My process does not allow for mass production of bulk items, so accepting a commission will depend on your requirements and the current studio workload.

Stock Turnover

My current studio set up limits me to work in small batches. Sometimes I have multiple numbers of the same item and sometimes they are one off pieces. My inventory will vary accordingly. Please feel free to drop by my online store anytime to see what is available and keep an eye on social media for store updates.
